INSTRUCTIONS

Project 2

Instruction :
Prototype Development:
Interactive Prototype:
Develop a clickable prototype that includes key pages and features of the redesigned website. The prototype should allow users to navigate through the site and interact with essential elements.
Tools: Use prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or any other relevant software to create the prototype.
Key Pages to Include:
Homepage: Present the main design elements, including navigation, hero section, and key content areas.
Core Content Pages: Develop prototypes for at least ONE core page (e.g., About Us, Services, Products) to showcase how the content is organized and presented.
Contact Page: Include a prototype of the contact page, demonstrating how users can interact with forms or other contact methods.
User Experience (UX)
Considerations:

Usability:
Ensure the prototype reflects a user-friendly design, with clear navigation, intuitive interfaces, and accessible features.
Interactivity: Implement interactive elements (e.g., buttons, hover states, form fields) to provide a realistic user experience.
Process of the redesigned website :
- First try redesigning the homepage, content page, finance page, and sign-in pages of Yahoo by using Figma.

FINAL SUBMISSION :

A brief writeup in your E-Portfolio of (500–800 words) outlining the key features of the prototype, any design decisions made during development, and how the prototype addresses the objectives set in the redesign proposal.

Main features
1. User interface design
Left vertical navigation bar: contains the main categories (such as "Be Inspired", "Places to go", "Plan your trip"), so that users can quickly find relevant content.
• Top horizontal navigation bar: provides "Home", "About", "Contact" and other core page entry, simplifying user operations.
• The page layout is reasonable, and there is a clear distinction between the various sections, which is easy for users to browse. For example, there is a navigation menu on the left, a main content display area in the middle, and a contact form on the right.
2. Content presentation
• Multiple sections showcasing Australia's tourist attractions, including cities, states, beaches, islands and more. Each section is beautifully illustrated to capture the user's attention.
• There is a special Recommend section, which can provide users with personalized travel advice.
3. Interaction design
• There are some interactive elements on the page, such as the "Load more" button, which allows users to load more content and improve the user experience.
• The Contact form allows users to communicate with the website operator for more information.
2. Design decisions
1. Visual design
• The use of a large number of high-quality pictures to display attractions is to attract users through visual impact and stimulate their desire to travel.
2. Functional design
• The recommendation section is added to provide personalized services and recommend suitable travel routes and attractions according to the user's preferences.
• The contact form is designed to facilitate user consultation and increase interaction between users and the website.
Three, how to achieve the goal
1. User experience objectives
• Improve user experience by making it easy for users to find the information they need through a clear and concise interface design and reasonable page layout.
Interactive elements such as the "Load more" button and contact form further enhance user engagement and interaction.
2. Business objectives
• Beautiful pictures of scenic spots and personalized recommendation functions can attract more users to visit the website and increase the traffic of the website.
Contact forms help gather user information to support subsequent marketing and customer service.

Reflection

During the practice of Project 2, I have a deeper understanding of the application of Figam software, which enables me to devote myself to all aspects of mobile application interface design. I started by dissecting the app's color palette, icon design, interaction logic, and ease of use in order to identify potential issues that might affect the user experience. By carefully evaluating these elements, I pinpointed what needed to be optimized. A core point is to optimize the interactive experience, which requires understanding the core desires of users when operating the app. In order to improve the user experience, I had to think about how to make the application easier and more in line with the user's habits. This means adding features that help with the operation, such as more guided prompts, optimized page jump logic, or friendlier action feedback.
