SECOND WORK:

REFLECTION
This week, I gained a deeper understanding of the use of the Lasso Tool, the Pen Tool, and layering. These tools play a key role in the creation of digital art, making my work more precise and vivid. Through repeated practice, I found that these tools became more comfortable and gradually mastered their subtlety. Now, not only is it smoother to use, but you can also have more fun in the creative process, inspiring more creativity and inspiration.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGING WEEK 5

LECTURE

1.In photography, exposure is the amount of light
which reaches your camera sensor or film.

2.The main parts of the camera:

  1. Camera body:

  • Shutter

  • Image sensor

  • LCD screen

Camera lens: Aperture/ Iris

3.EXPOSURE SETTING

SHUTTER SPEED: Shutter Speed refers to the time the shutter of a camera is open. A fast shutter speed means that the light is felt by the camera's sensor for a shorter period of time, so it can freeze motion or reduce the blurring effect of camera shake. Slow shutter speeds can cause motion blur or extend the duration of light entering the sensor.

ISO: ISO is a unit of sensitivity, representing the sensitivity of the camera sensor to light. A higher ISO means clear images can be obtained in low light conditions, but may introduce more noise. A lower ISO means the camera gets sharp images in better lighting conditions, but with less noise.

RIS: Iris refers to the aperture size of the camera lens. The larger the aperture, the more light will enter the camera, and the smaller the aperture, the less light will enter the camera. The change in aperture size affects the depth of field (focus range) and the amount of light passing through the photo.

REFLECTION
After systematic study and repeated practice, I have been able to use Photoshop skillfully, and successfully completed the design exercise of the Hester Building. In this process, I have a more comprehensive understanding and mastery of various tools of Photoshop, such as layers, masks, steel pen tools, selection tools, etc. I was able to use these tools to precisely edit and adjust images. In addition, this assignment made me more familiar with the process and skills of Photoshop, and further improved my design and creative ability.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGING WEEK 6

LECTURE

Poster design
The basic principles include:
1. Emphasis: To emphasize a design element so that it becomes a visual focal point and thus attracts the attention of the audience.
2. Balance and Alignment: Distribute design elements in a symmetrical or asymmetrical manner, ensuring stability and a sense of harmony throughout the design. Alignment refers to the arrangement of elements in the right place to enhance neatness and coherence.
3. Contrast: Use differences in color, size, shape, etc., to create contrast between different elements, thereby improving visual appeal and readability.
4. Repetition: Reuse certain design elements to give consistency and a sense of unity to the work and enhance brand recognition.
5. Proportion: reasonable arrangement of the size and proportion of elements to ensure the harmony and beauty of the design.
6. Movement: Use lines, shapes and colors to direct the viewer's gaze, creating visual flow and dynamic effects.
7. White space: Appropriate white space can highlight the main elements, reduce visual clutter, and make the work more breathable and advanced.

EXERCISE
WEEK 6 we will use two black and white photos provided by the teacher to re-color with adobe photoshop.
EXERCISE1:

EXERCISE2:

EXERCISE 3:

REFLECTION
WEEK 6 I learned the technique of recoloring black and white photos using Photoshop. This skill not only allows me to restore color to old photographs, but also allows me to add artistic effects to modern photographs. Recolor is more than simply applying color. It requires an understanding of the use and impact of color and how to preserve the original texture and atmosphere of a photograph.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGING WEEK 7

LECTURE

In this week's study, I mastered several advanced skills in Photoshop:
1. Double Exposure Merging Multiple Images: I learned how to use the double exposure technique to merge multiple images together to create a unique visual effect.
2. Using the Pivot Shift Effect: I learned how to apply the pivot shift effect to blur a part of a photo, rather than the entire photo, or just blur everything except the important parts to highlight the subject and give the piece more layering and focus.
3. Creating False Reflections: I tried to create a false reflection effect by using a separate window photo to make the image look more realistic and three-dimensional.
4. Converting the results to black and white: Finally, I learned how to convert color results to black and white images to enhance emotional expression and make the work more dramatic and emotionally rich.

EXERCISE
DOUBLE EXPOSURE :

EXERCISE 2: YOUR OWN VERSION DOUBLE EXPOSURE

REFLECTION
I did double exposure photography by merging two photos into one. This process allowed me to learn how to skillfully blend elements of different images to create works with rich layers and strong visual impact.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGING WEEK 9
Realism:
Realism is a genre of art that draws its content from the ordinary world and real life. Realist works often employ non-exotic and non-extraordinary themes, emphasizing the true face of everyday life.
Surrealism:
Surrealism is an art movement that emerged in the early 20th century, dedicated to exploring the subconscious mind and dreams, and breaking through the limitations of traditional logic and reality.
Dadaism:
Dada was an anti-war art movement that arose during World War I and was known for its satirical and meaningless works.
Digital Surrealism:
Digital surrealism is an art form that combines modern digital technology with the ideas of surrealism.

EXERCISE

REFLECTION
This is my first time using After Effects. At first, I was a little confused and upset because I wasn't familiar with the app's interface and features. However, through trial and error, I gradually became familiar with the tools and options. As time went on, my operation became more and more comfortable, and I was finally able to produce satisfactory animation effects.
