Week6/Week7

1.1Understand the contrast and variation between fonts

Screen printing involves several factors, including print type, screen type, font size, design focus, and pixel differences between devices.
Screen font size
Screen font size is very important in screen printing, because it directly affects the clarity and detail of the printed pattern. Larger fonts are good for rough materials and long distance viewing, while smaller fonts are good for fine patterns and close viewing.
Hyperactive link
In digital printing and web design, Hyperlinks are those links that are used very frequently in web pages or applications. Although there is no direct equivalent concept in traditional screen printing, similar concepts can be embodied in the focus and visual guidance of patterns when designing printed matter.
Pixel differences between devices
Pixel differences between devices can affect how a digital design looks on different screens. Here are some key points:
1. Resolution: The resolution of different devices is different, resulting in the clarity and detail of the same image displayed on different devices.
2. Color performance: The color calibration and display technology of different devices are different, which may lead to inconsistent color display.
3. Screen size: The difference in screen size will affect the visual effect and readability of the image.
In screen printing, although there is no concept of pixels like digital devices, the size and density of the printed dot (usually expressed as DPI of dots per inch) affects the clarity and detail of the printed pattern. High DPI screens can print more delicate patterns, while low DPI screens are suitable for coarser patterns.

TASK 2 / Typographic Exploration & Communication
In this task you will be asked to express typographically the content in this link in a 2-page editorial spread (200mm x200mm per page). Choose 1 from the 3 text options provided. No images are allowed (unless permitted). However, some very minor graphical elements, i.e. line, shade, etc. might be allowed.

REFLECTIONS

Experiences:
In this cover design task, I have mastered many cover design points and some little-known details. When designing the cover, the main title shape of the cover needs to be adjusted according to different design styles, and the spacing and proportion of the main title and subtitle and other information should be reasonable to achieve visual balance and beauty.

Observations:
In this task, I found that many students' web design is very creative and can well reflect the theme of the web page.

Findings:
I learned the importance of layout and typography. Good layout and typography mhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1XFyIw1hpNvSpdtZyIR9Ild7kRnSvGCM-/view?usp=sharingake the author's reader read clearly and easily understand what the author wants to express.

FURTHER READINGS
The purpose of this book is to provide a concise and comprehensive overview of the information, vocabulary, tools, and methods required in the practice of typographic design. The book will lead readers to explore a variety of design projects in different contexts, such as different industries and different media platforms, and show the diversity of typographic design in practical applications. In addition, the book will also delve into traditional and non-traditional typographic design processes, and illustrate the specific practices of these processes through case studies, with the aim of helping readers better understand and the concepts and techniques of typographic design.
